Children Can Paint from the Heart at Mt. Lassen Art Center

Paint From the Heart is a free, 6-week public event for children ages 5 to 18 years on Wednesdays (starting this week) at the Mt. Lassen Art Center in Viola. Parents are required to remain and participate with children under 7 years old. We meet at 36373 State Highway 44 on Wednesdays from 10 to 11:30 AM. Arrest Made in Shingletown Burglary of Gold, Silver, Cash

On 6-30-11 Shasta County Sheriff’s Detectives, Redding Police Investigators and State Parole Investigators conducted a search of the residence of Daniel Hannah, where numerous items of stolen property were found related to a residential burglary reported on 6-19-11. The victim reported approximately $100,000 in silver coins, silver bars, gold coins along with U.S. currency and numerous firearms and ammunition stolen from his residence. The victim also reported baseball and basketball card collections, coin collections, household items, jewelry and tools were also taken. The victim is still finding additional items stolen from his residence. Hannah became a person of interest after Redding Police Officers located a backpack in Redding following a subject who ran from CHP Officers on 6-25-11 off Hwy 44 in Redding. Inside the backpack gold coins, thousands of dollars in cash, a platinum 1 ounce bar and matching certificate were located. Also inside the backpack were 3 V.I.P. cards bearing the name of Hannah. The victim later identified the backpack, platinum bar and certificate and gold coins as stolen from his residence. Continue Reading
