Posted on September 15, 2014 by Andrea Charroin

On a stroll through Redding’s Certified Farmers Market, I spotted some amazingly beautiful green tomatoes. Yes, GREEN. I had an inspiration. My kids need to try fried green tomatoes. I marveled that I had never made the delicious beauties for… Continue Reading →

Posted on September 12, 2014 by Doug Cushman

It’s been a while since I’ve visited you, almost seven years. I hadn’t even written you. So I admit I was a bit wary and nervous when I flew into Redding Municipal Airport a few weeks ago. Would you remember… Continue Reading →

In reply to Steve Towers. I'll ignore most of your comment to focus on talking about UC Davis opening a medical school here. Even though it was all hearsay, I was exposed to this idea maybe 16-17 years ago. From what I understand, Davis answered "Thanks, but no thanks." That answer makes sense to me; […]

In reply to Flounders. Good to know about parsley. And I am impressed (jealous) about your tarragon returning after winter. You're correct about it doing best in partial shade. It's delicate. (I can't remember where I bought the Mexican tarragon, but it's STURDY and loves full sun.)

In reply to Shelly Shively. Glad you liked the story. And you're right that Gary and Rocio are inspirational. I am looking forward to visiting the Lavender Harvest, and can't wait to plant some lavender at my place.
