    In reply to Steve Towers. You are 100% right about the requisite salt preparation for cabbage! It seems so sturdy, you wouldn't think you would need to do that to keep it from getting soggy, but you do. And good point about undercooked beans causing gastrointestinal distress. Your coleslaw version sounds delicious!

    In reply to Steve Towers. Anthocyanins are why I grow some crazy tomatoes. I always have a few from California's own Wild Boar Farms. The flavor has improved with the new varieties.     I hope those in charge of the beans and coleslaw will take this in the spirit it is intended. They need to up their game, and it doesn't have to cost anymore than the poorly done versions.
