Saturday, keeping with its annual Veterans Day tradition, the City of Shasta Lake will honor veterans with a variety of events. This year’s Shasta Lake Veterans Day Parade features the theme, “America’s Warriors Past-Present-Future.” Grand marshal retired U.S. Army Maj. Fred Salanti, founder and national executive director of the Missing In America Project (MIAP) will preside over the celebration.
What: Veterans Day Events – begins with a pancake breakfast, concludes with a barbecue

- 6 to 10 a.m. – Pancake breakfast at the Shasta Lake Fire Protection District Station at Ashby Court
- 9:15 a.m. – Blue Star memorial dedication hosted by the Shasta Lake Garden Project on Shasta Dam Boulevard Veterans Memorial at Lions Club water fountain
- 10 a.m. – 17th Annual Veterans Day Parade on Shasta Dam Boulevard, sponsored by the Shasta Lake Lions Club
- 10:10 a.m. – Aircraft flyover
- After the parade – Barbecue at the American Legion Post No. 720, 4309 Vallecito St.
