Jim Reed, Democrat from Shasta County, announces his candidacy for New Congressional District 1, which comprises: Butte, Shasta, Nevada, Siskiyou, Tehama, Lassen, Plumas, Modoc, Sierra, and parts of Placer & Glenn counties.
Reed’s campaign shares this message: Jim Reed understands the issues important to the average working person in these northern counties. Jim will outline his plans to bring about the retirement of the incumbent who’s held the seat for the last 25 years. Noting that it’s time for change and that there is a need for the representation of all persons in Congressional District 1, Jim’s priorities will be to bring funding to repair our roads and infrastructure, protect Social Security and Medicare, and work to keep higher education affordable. Most importantly, Reed is willing to do the hard work necessary to bring good paying jobs to the counties of CD 1. The public is invited to meet Jim Reed.
