Medford Shooting Suspect Turns Himself in

On 8/22/11 at 2143 hours (9:43 p.m.), Medford Police Officers responded to a reported gunshot victim in front of the Woodland Heights Market at Columbus and Prune, Medford.

Arriving officers found the victim, Joshua Lee Sandusky, 33 y.o.a. of Medford, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Medford Police officers and detectives searched the vicinity of 1504 Prune for evidence of the assault and the suspect.

At approximately 0710 this morning, the suspect turned himself in to officers in the area of W. Main and Perrydale, Medford. The suspected weapon was recovered.

Currently in custody is:

Sheets, Christopher Michael, 28 y.o.a.

No charges have yet been filed. The investigation is ongoing.

This incident is not gang related, nor is it related to the large fight that occurred in this area on 8/21/11, investigators say. The victim and suspect are known to each other.
