On Sunday, 8-21-2011, at approximately 1945 hours (7:45 p.m.), the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office in the City of Shasta Lake received a call of a vehicle accident on Oliver Street. Upon arrival it was discovered that it was a solo vehicle accident involving an eight year old female.
During the initial investigation, evidence was discovered that the vehicle may have been unoccupied and inadvertently rolled down a driveway. The vehicle rolled over the young girl and she did not survive from her injuries. At this time there are no witnesses to the accident. The cause of the accident is currently under investigation.
The California Highway Patrol and Cal-Fire assisted with this incident, and the vehicle was impounded as evidence by the Sheriff’s Office for further investigation.
