On Saturday morning at 1:04 a.m. Redding police officers were called to investigate a drug transaction taking place at “Johnny’s” bar located at 1729 California Street. Bar security officers were conducting a security and safety check of the bar. Security officers observed two males concealing themselves in a restroom stall. One male was furnishing the other with cocaine. The drug seller was detained by security. The buyer was able to flee the bar on foot, and has not yet been identified.
The seller was identified as John Bragg, 24, of Anderson. The amount of cocaine he possessed, along with other evidence and witness statements, supported an arrest for sales of cocaine. He was booked into the Shasta County Jail on suspicion of sales of a controlled substance. His bail was set at $25,000 dollars.
