As usual, some of my favorite GO picks were found in the meat/cheese case, such as this 2.5 lb. bag of goat cheese crumbles. GO price: $4.99 – EW (elsewhere price) price: $9.99.
Yes, that’s probably more goat cheese crumbles than you can eat by yourself. But maybe you can swap with a friend, someone smart enough to have bought this 1-lb. bag of Prosciutto pieces, which, of course, your friend will share with you. Prosciutto’s GO price: $2.99 –Â EW price $7.99.
But perhaps the best buy of the day was this Danish Brie.
GO price: 99 cents – EW price: $3.99.
I have a hunch I know why this brie was priced so low. Its “best if used by” date is April 23, 2009. (You do check all expiration dates, right?)
What the heck, for 99-cent brie, I figured I’d live dangerously. So I bought two, took them home, opened one and guess what? The brie I bought (notice that distinction, just in case yours is different) was beautiful, slightly firm and perfectly milky white. Delicious!
