Hey, what about the general public sale?: Saturday, April 25, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
Details, details: In addition to the popular heirloom vegetables and an enormous stock of unusual, drought-tolerant, hard-to-find perennials, shrubs, and trees, this year’s sale also features California native plants and a wide variety of ornamental grasses, all grown in Turtle Bay’s nursery, acclimated to Redding’s challenging climate conditions.
But wait, there’s more: This year includes a festive twist with a garden marketplace that offers food and beverages, crafts and gift vendors in the verdant garden setting of the McConnell Arboretum & Botanical Gardens. Other features include children’s garden activities Friday and Saturday, and free garden tours.
Where: The McConnell Arboretum & Botanical Gardens and Nursery – 1100 Arboretum Drive. (Take N. Market Street to Arboretum Drive. Take right fork. Parking lot & entrance are on the left.)
BTW: The McConnell Arboretum & Botanical Gardens and Nursery will be closed on Friday, April 24, until 4 p.m.
