The suspense is killing me

I really look forward to tomorrow. Then I can finally share my secret with you.

It’s been tough not to spill the beans. The thing is, the nearer I get to being able to blab all, the more worried I become.

What if I misjudged you? What if I projected what I knew I’d like, and assumed you’d share my joy?

I’m tellin’ ya, the suspense is killing me.

How many more hours must I wait?

For what it’s worth, to make the time pass more quickly, we considered conducting a Food for Thought poll to see what your top guesses were regarding our Friday surprise.

I decided against the poll. I feared everyone would guess correctly, and I’d have nothing to announce. How anticlimactic would that be?

Even so, the funniest thing happened: Totally unsolicited, some of you have pitched your own guesses.

We only have one day until I can officially spill the beans, so I might as well share some of your guesses. They’re pretty creative. (I expect nothing less from you.)

Here there are:

I will start a magazine.

I will start a newspaper.

I am pregnant.

I have been offered a very cool job that will take me outside the area.

I have been offered my own television cooking show.

I can’t confirm or deny.

You’ll know by tomorrow.

Oh, wait, a couple of things:

First, regarding the redesign, this Generation 5 Food for Thought is our most ambitious ever. We’ll be up all Thursday night working out the bugs and kinks as we move furniture and redecorate and ready the site for you.

But as with any relocation, we expect glitches.

I welcome you, our Food for Thought family, to share your thoughts, observations and critiques about the new site (and announcement).

Also, please alert us via email (attndoni@gmail.com) if you see anything amiss on the new site.

I’m not worried. I think it’s already beautiful. But I’m biased.

I also think you’ll love our announcement.

I know I do.

I think it’s gonna be good!
