    In reply to Steve Towers. We both learned something. I was unfamiliar with Xylem, but had read more generally about the hydraulic pumping height limit hypothesis in trees and how coastal redwoods are believed to be able to approach the theoretical height limit because regular fog reduces pumping demands.

    In reply to Doni Chamberlain. Online sources say the Element has a 60 liter tank --15.85 gallons-- so I bet she doesn't let it get as low and never pumps more than 11. Not all 15.85 is usable; the pickup sits a little above the bottom of the tank to reduce sediment intake and the […]
