The 100 Mile Harvest is back and scheduled for November 3, 2011. This year the 100- Mile Harvest experience is proudly hosted by Annie and Ray Bianchi of Bianchi Orchards. Through their hospitality, and that of the region, the event features local foods, wine, music, art and service. Unique to this event are both the Tehama Market Place, featuring a bounty of specialty products and the “Experience-Themed” auction, highlighting several of our areas greatest assets.
In 2010, over 100 people attended the 100 Mile Harvest, which showcased the attributes of our County and raised $12,500 for the Tehama County Branding Project. Held at the home of Richard and Suzanne Muench, the event celebrated the bounty of this area through commercial agriculture, family farms, tourism, wineries, recreation, the arts, hospitality, restaurants, and industry. The main focus of this event is to promote the North State’s diverse bounty as one of the centerpieces of the Tehama County Branding Economic Prosperity Project.
“We’ve made a good start at raising the $70,000 we need to begin the process of aggressively marketing Tehama County and strengthening our economic base through continued brand and marketing support efforts,” offered Kate Grissom of the Brand Leadership Team. “We are proud to host this year’s 100 Mile Harvest Event. Promoting our local agriculture and harvest as one gem in the treasures held in this county is an honor for our family business,” explained Ray and Annie Bianchi of the Bianchi Family Orchards. The 100 Mile Harvest and the Branding Economic Development Project has the backing of community members, businesses and organizations throughout Tehama County.
This year dinner will be served under a canopy of stars among the walnut trees of the Bianchi Ranch in Dairyville. “This region is rich with important agricultural assets and the lomey soil produces some of this region’s best produce including almonds, pistachios, prunes, and walnuts,” added Annie Bianchi.
