Two holiday parades are scheduled in the north state on Sat., Dec. 6:
Parade No. 1 will happen in Igo, west of Redding on Placer Road. It begins at 1 p.m.
Plus, a sale of fresh-cut Christmas trees and home-made refreshments. Expect a small-town parade that lasts minutes, but includes vintage tractors, miniature donkeys, floats, a guy in a gorilla suit and always, Santa.
Parade No. 2 will occur at 6 p.m. in downtown Redding. Dress warmly, and expect hundreds of lighted floats, marching bands, a snazzy Jazzercise group, and of course, Santa.
