Redding Police Searching for Gold Street Robber

On August 9, 2011 at 9:39 p.m., officers responded to the Gold Street Liquor Store at 1459 Gold Street for an armed robbery.

Officers arrived and contacted the female clerk. She advised an unknown male suspect entered the store. He displayed a handgun and demanded money. He then fled the store southbound on California Street with an undisclosed amount of money.

The suspect was described as black male wearing black pants, a black hoodie, and a red bandana covering his face.

Witnesses outside the store told officers the suspect fled southbound on California Street after meeting up with two additional males. One witness believed the two additional males were white, but had no other description.

The area was checked by officers and with the assistance of a police canine. No suspects were located.
