Memorial Service Scheduled: The Life and Legacy of Doug Craig

Doug Craig.

With permission granted by his family, it is with the deepest sadness that I report that Doug Craig, a long-time friend and prolific contributor here at A News Cafe, died on Oct. 6, 2023.

Doug was an extraordinary human being who positively touched and improved an untold number of lives through his love, friendship, writing and private therapy practice.

Doug was wise, compassionate and brave. Even in his darkest hours he turned to writing to help others.

In March, he wrote the essay, “Cancer is a Mirror,” in which he spoke frankly about his cancer diagnosis.

In May, Doug submitted his final essay to A News Cafe, “Choosing Life and Love: More Lessons from the Cancer Road”.

His formal obituary is pending, but in the meantime Doug’s family asked that we share this information about Doug’s memorial service next month. The details are below.

On behalf of everyone at A News Cafe, we send our heartfelt sympathy to Doug’s wife, daughters and everyone who loved him. He is gone, but never forgotten.
