Shasta Family YMCA is proud to announce they will be opening 2 new Collaborative Preschools in August 2015 at North Cottonwood School and at North Cow Creek School. These new sites are opening to meet the child care needs of these rural communities identified through surveys conducted of parents and guardians in the school districts.
Shasta Family YMCA Collaborative Preschools at North Cottonwood School and North Cow Creek School will be full-day school year programs, licensed to serve up to 30 children 2 to 5 years of age. Since 1993, the Y has appreciated on-going relationships with local school districts to provide quality child care for their students and students-to-be. The Y currently serves over 400 children weekly in our community in its afterschool programs. The Y is currently operating a successful year-round preschool program located at Manzanita School, serving 50 children weekly.
The Y is excited to provide quality preschool opportunities to the families in Cottonwood and Palo Cedro and their surrounding areas. By participating in a high quality, enriching preschool, the children will be better prepared for kindergarten. Studies show that children who enter kindergarten school-ready, are ready to learn and will stay at or above grade level.
Enrollments are now being taken at the schools or at the YMCA at 1155 N. Court Street in Redding. For additional information, see the website at www.sfymca.org or please contact Linda Delles, Director of Child Care and Camps at (530) 246-9622.Â
