Turtle Bay is gearing up to host a new exhibition: Sweet—A Tasty Journey, from Stage Nine Exhibit Design! From January 17th to May 13th, the museum’s Exploration Hall will be filled with the exhibition that takes a nostalgic look at the confections beloved by generations of Americans. The exhibition serves a healthy helping of brain food, teaching all about California’s “farm to fork” role in candy-making. Plus, it’s a treat for the senses—from your eyes to your taste buds. Sweet—A Tasty Journey has lots of interactive displays and activities to stimulate all five senses while you explore the social and cultural aspects of the candy industry. You’ll learn all about real life “Willie Wonka” stories from notable inventors such as Forrest Mars and Milton Hershey.
Sweet—A Tasty Journey makes use of various cutting edge technologies, making a perfect blend of traditional and modern education techniques that is fun for all ages. With vintage candy vending machines, pieces of factory equipment, and rare relics from the past and present world of candy, there is something for everyone to enjoy!
This interactive, educational, and fun exhibit is included in the price of admission to Turtle Bay and, as always, is free for members. Sweet—A Tasty Journey is presented by Five Star Bank and Haagen Dazs with support from Dutch Bros. Coffee—the Resner Family, and additional support from Build It. For Park hours and information, visit www.turtlebay.org.
Guests have a chance to get a sneak peek at Sweet before it opens by attending Chocolate After Dark: A Wine and Chocolate Experience on Friday, January 16th from 7 to 9 p.m. Tickets are $35 and available at the Museum Store and Coffee Bar or online at turtlebay.org.
