Volunteers working on the annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer for Redding walk are recruiting teams and gearing up for this year’s event on Saturday, October 11. Residents and supporters are invited to form teams, attend and take part in this annual event.
With 31 teams and over 200 participants currently signed-up, the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer committee is incredibly optimistic and excited for this year’s event. The non-competitive walk will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at the Sundial Bridge at Turtle Bay. Registration begins at 7:30am and the walk begins at 8am. Teams of walkers will complete a 5k (3.1 mile) course and take part in the activities before and after the walk. Various booths—both informational and entertaining—will be onsite before, during, and after the event for walkers and supporters to enjoy.
The American Cancer Society is joined by Lithia Chevrolet, Redding Record Searchlight, Results Radio, KIXE, and KRCR in taking a leadership position in the community’s fight against breast cancer.
