Message from the General Manager of KIXE-TV, Mike Lampella

As we celebrate this golden anniversary for 50 years of broadcasting in the north state, I can’t help but reflect with gratitude on those individuals whose vision and foresight birthed the idea for an educational television station.  From its inception in 1954, it took this intrepid group of people 10 years to lay the foundations that would on October 5, 1964 result in KIXE-TV, Ch. 9 going on the air.   Join us Sunday, October 5, 2014 at 7pm as we air “KIXEs 50th Anniversary” a tribute to the last 50 years. Who we are and where we came from.

I’m proud to be serving our community currently as KIXEs General Manager however; I have had the distinct privilege to be a part of this station for over 35 years.  I have witnessed for all these years, the integrated efforts of thousands of individuals, civic organizations and businesses whose contributions and involvement have moved this station forward through the decades in our goal to achieve broadcasting excellence with cultural, entertaining and educational programs.

We continue today, to pursue the vision of those pioneers to educate, enlighten and entertain, and as we honor the visionaries of the past, I also wish to express my deepest appreciation to all of you who have partnered with us with your support and would like to extend an invitation to contact me for more information regarding how we will celebrate our Golden Anniversary with our North State communities.

“Thank you” are simple words to say, but they are most sincerely expressed.
