According to CAL FIRE, the Boles Fire, that started about 1 a.m. Monday, has burned more than 350 acres and destroyed 100 structures. It is 20 percent contained.

Jefferson Public Radio reporters Victoria Reed and Valerie Ing‘s story told how the devastating Boles Fire “ripped through the small city of Weed Monday afternoon, reducing entire neighborhoods to smoldering rubble, burning the Holy Family Catholic Church, damaging an elementary school and burning portions of the town’s largest employer, Roseburg Forest Products Mill.”
