Food for Fines at Shasta Public Libraries

Do you appreciate posts like this? We'd welcome your support as a subscriber. Sincerely, publisher Doni Chamberlain

Food for Fines returns to all branches of the Shasta Public Libraries. Bring a can of food to donate and wipe $1.00 off of outstanding library fines, up to $10 per customer. Donated food will be given to The Women’s Fund/Shasta Family Justice Center (Redding), Anderson Cottonwood Christian Assistance (Anderson) and Solid Rock Food Pantry (Burney), respectively, for inclusion in their holiday distributions. No need to have fines to participate. All donations are gratefully accepted. So bring a can down to your local library and help feed our community!

Food for Fines will take place October 28-November 17, 2011. Cans may be donated at the Redding, Anderson and Burney branches. No out-of-date, dented, rusted, or otherwise damaged cans or glass containers will be accepted. Donations will be applicable to existing fines incurred from previously returned materials. No credit bureau accounts, or fines and fees for lost or damaged books are eligible.

For information, call 245-7250 (Redding), 365-7685 (Anderson), 530-335-4317 (Burney), or visit
