Churn Creek Bottom Homeowners and Friends Gather Signatures

Churn Creek Bottom Homeowners and Friends are currently making a last ditch stand to stop the massive shopping mall planned for I-5 at Knighton Road in south Redding.

Organizer Becky Anderson said the group hopes to get the matter to the vote of the people by gathering 6,500 valid registered Shasta County voters’ signatures before Aug. 31.

Each day, volunteers are making petitions available at businesses, and focusing on Redding this weekend and next. Today through Monday (Aug. 19-22), in addition to other locations, they plan to collect signatures at these times and places:

10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Wal-Mart in Redding
10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Tops Market on Eureka Way
