Christopher Justice Mitchell

On Sunday, July 10, 2011 at 1711 Hours, Deputies (including Sheriff K9) from the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office, California State Park Ranger and California Highway Patrol Air Operations executed an arrest warrant on Christopher Justice Mitchell of Hat Creek, California.

Law Enforcement arrived at 19155 Hwy 89 and immediately surrounded the home of Mitchell. During the containment of the residence, Mitchell was able to break the perimeter and run through heavy brush. The CHP helicopter was able to keep a visual overhead and direct Deputies near his location. Mitchell made a last attempt to flee across Hwy 89 into adjoining property when Deputies gave chase and caught Mitchell.

The warrants executed on Mitchell stem from a Shasta Interagency Narcotics Task Force (SINTF) investigation a few months back. The case alleged Mitchell was in possession of a firearm and the possession of a controlled substance. At the time of this incident, Mitchell was considered to be armed and dangerous. Mitchell was booked into the Shasta County Main Jail in Redding in lieu of $1,000,000.00 dollars bail.
