It was a chaotic, noisy, smoky scene on Hartnell Avenue around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday from my vantage point across the street at Cash & Carry’s parking lot.
At least five Redding Fire Department engines responded, as well as a number of Redding Police Department vehicles. A helicopter circled overhead as firefighters on the ground directed fire hoses toward the back of the building, where most of the fire-and-smoke action seemed located.
