    In reply to Beverly Stafford. You're right that back in the day, it was assumed that women would take their husbands' names. But even now, the tradition is a strong one, even with modern couples. I recall George and Sue Economou going by Greek grandparent names, too. So cool.

    In reply to Steve Towers. The name "Towers" is definitely a keeper. Interesting about your son-in-law taking your name, too. That must have brought up a peg in your esteem. Your story about the newly created shared name is interesting, especially in light of its meaning.
