Over the past several weeks, officers from the Redding Police Department have taken several reports of an unknown suspect spray-painting “LOST DR3” on the walls of numerous businesses and other structures in the east Redding area. At this time, the suspect has caused well in excess of $2,000 dollars in damage via this graffiti.
On September 24th, 2016, Officer Chad Gross developed information regarding a possible suspect in these incidents. Officers conducted a probation search at the residence of James Thornton, 26 years of Redding. During the probation search, officers discovered several items linking Thornton to the string of vandalisms. Thornton was arrested and booked into the Shasta County jail for felony vandalism and for violating his probation.
