This 2008 Cultural Cruise offers us nearly one dozen art venues from which to choose, and three hours in which to do it, between 5 and 8 p.m.
A robot could pull it off, but we humans are inclined to slow down. We chat with friends and acquaintances. And because it’s right at dinner time, we wait in line for appetizers and beverages. Finally, we stand still and ponder the art before us. So much to see. So much to marvel.
This is such a great event.
And because it’s such a wonderful, worthwhile event, every year I wish the Cultural Cruise was an all-day, weekend event.
I wish it for the working folks who can’t get away before 5 p.m..
I wish it for parents with kids who need dinner and baths and bedtimes.
But selfishly, I wish it for people like me, who wants to see all the wonderful art, but has difficulty dashing around and trying to cram so much seeing into so little timing.
But I suppose that’s a nice problem to have. And here’s our chance to attend. Gas up the car, put on your fastest running shoes, and get going!
