Bruce, I, Kelly and my sister Shelly attended the Igo Christmas Parade Saturday afternoon. Perfect (spring) weather. (btw, this group photo, above, as well as the one of the star float, were taken by Alan Phillips, our friend and yours. For an added bonus, be sure to scroll down to the bottom to see the short video.)
The parade had so much to see . . .

Clowns . . .

A girl and her dog on an ATV . . .

Gift-wrapped girls on horse back . . .

A gentleman announcer (golly, he’s holding a News Cafe Art Hop card)

Alan’s daughter (the little girl in red) joined other children who waved to the people in the parade (and scooped up candy thrown from the parade)

People used their imaginations to build interesting floats . . .
One float delivered Santa and Mrs. Claus to Igo, who greeted children and handed out sacks of gifts.

Santa took time to speak to every child who waited in line to see him . . .

And before long, the parade was over, so in true Igo Christmas parade fashion, it flipped a U in the school parking lot and returned the same way it arrived.
I wish you’d been there. But for a sense of what it was like, click on this box below to watch the short video. And in the meantime, we might post a slide show this week of other parade photos.
