We at Food for Thought thank and recognize all our veterans for their service and sacrifice. Today many of us will display American flags in honor and remembrance of our country’s veterans: Grandmothers, grandfathers, aunts, uncles, mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, friends, acquaintances, sons and daughters.

Sunrise until noon: The American flag off Bechelli Lane near Interstate 5 will lower to half-staff.
9 a.m. Monday:Veterans Memorial Hall on Yuba Street in downtown Redding
10 a.m. Monday: Lawncrest Memorial Park on East Cypress Avenue in Redding; Weaverville Cemetery on Odd Fellows Avenue in Weaverville
11 a.m. Monday: Anderson Cemetery at 2500 Cemetery Lane in Anderson; Oak Hill Cemetery at 735 Cemetery Lane in Red Bluff
noon Monday: Redding Cemetery on Continental Street in Redding
5:45 p.m. Monday: Northern California Veterans Cemetery on Gas Point Road in Igo
11 a.m. Friday: Wreath-laying at the Veterans Memorial Grove near the Redding Convention Center on Auditorium Drive in Redding
