On Saturday, June 6, at 7 p.m., The North State Jazz Orchestra will host its Spring concert, A Night in Full Swing, at the Shasta College Theater. This 40-piece ensemble brings big band energy, the nuance of dynamics, and immense passion to the stage as it welcomes audience members with a stunning mix of traditional jazz standards infused with modern interpretations. The result is a collective musical experience that enchants listeners of all ages and backgrounds, created by some of the North State’s most talented musicians and vocalists.
The North State Jazz Orchestra, the brainchild of director and conductor Cleveland Bonéy, has been a dream more than 20 years in the making. Officially established in 2025, the North State Jazz Orchestra’s mission is to bring jazz-centered musical experiences and educational opportunities to the North State.
“Music is the greatest unifier. It holds the power to bring people together and give them something to hold onto. It is a dream come true to help bring joy and growth to our community through music, and that’s just what we’re doing with The North State Jazz Orchestra,” says Cleveland Bonéy, the Orchestra’s Founder & Conductor.
To inspire a new generation of jazz enthusiasts, the North State Jazz Orchestra offers two types of tickets to the upcoming performance: General Admission tickets: $37. Student / Child tickets: available to children 13 and under and students up to the age of 21 with a valid student ID: $17.
Tickets can be purchased online and will also be available at the door while supplies last.
The lobby will open at 6 p.m., where snacks will be available for purchase before the show, during intermission, and at the close of the performance. Theater doors will open at 6:30 pm. Music will begin at 7 pm.
