
Shasta College proudly announces its 73rd Annual Art Student Exhibit, slated to run from May 5 to May 19. The event will showcase the exceptional talent of student artists and feature a diverse array of visual practices across various genres and media.
Well-known painting, drawing, and foundations instructor at Chico State, J. Pouwels, will serve as the juror for this year’s exhibition. Pouwels will curate the exhibit, selecting the best pieces for display. Awards totaling over $4000 will be presented to honor the most exceptional artworks.
The exhibition will be housed in the Shasta College Art Gallery, open to the public from Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Additionally, attendees are invited to attend the Juror’s Lecture on Thursday, April 30, from 1:00 p.m. to 1:50 p.m. in Room 400 on the Shasta College Main Campus.
The highlight of the event will be the Reception and Awards Ceremony on Thursday, May 7, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Shasta College Art Gallery. This celebratory occasion is free and open to all members of the public.
