Cathy Darling Allen, Shasta County Clerk, announces that the recall petition for District 2 raw count process is complete.
Proponents have submitted 6,030 signatures that must still be examined and verified.
The signature verification process will begin after all the voter registration associated with the petition has been processed.
The minimum number of signatures required was 4,308. The raw count submitted is 6,030. The elections department has until November 12th to check signatures and determine if the petition is sufficient to force a recall election.
As a reminder, the California elections code mandates that the petition shall be signed by not less than 20% of registered voters in the District as of the last report of registration provided to the Secretary of State. The most recent report of registration was filed on February 10, 2021. A breakdown the of registration numbers and the number of required signatures is below.
