RPD Searching for Criminal Threats Suspect in West Redding

On Thursday, January 9th, 2019, Redding Police Officers responded to 1622 San Francisco Street in west Redding regarding a disturbance at that location. Upon arrival officers learned 24 year old Jesse Norris of Redding had been threatening and menacing the family at this location for the majority of the day. Norris arrived at the residence initially around 4:30 P.M., demanding property that he believed was his inside the residence. Norris was denied entry so he left and re-initiated contact with a female member of the family in the parking lot of Turtle Bay. Norris slashed the tires on the female victim’s vehicle and left.

Norris arrived at the San Francisco street address a second time around 7:25 P.M.. This time he was brandishing a large knife and threatened a 61 year old male hitting him in the chin with the knife and saying “I could gut you right now”. Police were notified and responded to the residence. Norris fled on foot dropping the knife. He ran into a nearby green belt where he vanished from view. A Redding Police K9 was utilized to track Norris, assistance was provided by a California Highway Patrol Helicopter, but Norris eluded capture.

Jesse Norris is wanted for assault with a deadly weapon and criminal threats. He is described as a white male, 24 years of age with brown hair and glasses. He was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt with a skeleton or skull on it.
