Live Music in the North State: May 1 – May 7

Martyn Joseph performs at the Pilgrim Congregational Church in Redding on Saturday, May 4.

This will be an eventful week for the live music scene in the north state, with some notable touring acts coming through as well as local favorites, and it marks the opening of the summer music festival season with The Billies performing at Shasta Lake’s Friday Night at the Park concert series.

It’s also notable because this Friday marks the very last concert presented by the Oaksong Society for Preservation of Real Cool Music. It’s been a twenty-year run for the folks who run Oaksong, and they end it with a bang with the appearance of “the Welsh Bruce Springsteen,” Martyn Joseph. Dang, I’m going to miss the Oaksong Society.
