Shasta College presents “Over There: The Great War”

On Saturday evening, November 10th, at 7:30 P.M. the Shasta College Division of Fine Arts, in collaboration with the Shasta College Foundation, will present “Over There: The Great War”, as a commemoration of the centennial of World War I, with a 6:45 pre-show presentation, “The Poetry of the Trenches”, given by Instructor of English Kathryn Calkins.

This year marks the one-hundredth anniversary of the armistice that ended “the war to end all wars”. Actors will present the story of the war as it unfolded through letters, telegrams, speeches, and headlines. The Concert Choir, under the direction of Dr. Elizabeth Waterbury, will present the hit songs of the era.

This living tribute will bring the era, events, and emotions to life in a way that can only be experienced live. Join us as we remember and honor the veterans of the Great War and all those who joined in the conflict that brought America into the spotlight of world events.

Tickets are $10, $5 for seniors and students with a valid student I.D. All proceeds will be donated to the Shasta College Veteran’s Scholarship Fund. Tickets are available through the College website at www.shastacollege.edu/tickets. For more information, contact the Shasta College Box Office at (530) 242-7573.
