Redding man on parole arrested after brandishing an imitation firearm

On October 3rd , 2018, Officers with the Redding Police department were dispatched to the Safeway on Pine street, regarding a man with a gun call. The victim called to report that a man pointed a gun at him and was waving the gun at passing cars. The victim kept a safe distance and was able to provide a thorough description of the suspect, which included extensive facial tattoos.

Officers arrived and found the suspect still armed with the handgun. He was quickly identified as a local parolee, Anthony Martin Parks, age 30. Officers commanded him to drop the firearm, to which he complied. Parks was taken into custody without incident and after a positive identification from the victim, he was booked into the Shasta county jail for brandishing an imitation firearm and violation of parole.

On a side note: Parks was arrested on a fresh parole violation on September 22nd and released 13 hours later due to capacity issues. On the 29th of September, he was arrested on a parole violation warrant and released an hour later.
