On July 6, 2018, at approximately 2100 hours, a Deputy Coroner Investigator was dispatched to Burney Falls in Burney, California. It was reported that an adult male jumped off the falls, but did not re-surface. The Shasta County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team was summoned to the scene and located the decedent’s remains shortly thereafter.
The decedent was positively identified as 30 year old Elliott John Miller of Laguna Niguel, California. The decedent’s next-of-kin has been notified and a postmortem examination has been performed. The incident remains under investigation by the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office.
