Live Music in the North State: March 14 – March 20

The Glenn Miller Orchestra performs at the Cascade Theatre this Friday, March 16.

We’re losing a long-standing Sunday musical event after this week. The Rivercity Jazz Society will present their last concert and dance at the Redding Elks Lodge this Sunday, closing the curtains after 30 years. So long folks, and thank you for everything you’ve done for our local music scene.

Wednesday, March 14

The North State Symphony performs The Colors of the Symphony at the State Theatre in Red Bluff, from 9:15 a.m. until 12:15 p.m. Although the program is designed to offer an introduction to the orchestra for 5th grade students, all ages are welcome. (530) 529-2787.

Open Mic Night at The Grape Escape in Redding, from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. This open mic will normally happen on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month. Hosted by Hannah Danielle. 21 and over. (530) 244-8463. (The Grape Escape has moved. It’s now at 1824 Pine Street in Redding.)
