This concert is a rhythmic frenzy that begins with images of a Roman carnival. Guest violinist Chloe Trevor will be featured in a concerto by Redding’s own Dan Pinkston and then Ravel’s showpiece, Tzigane. The suite from Igor Stravinsky’s first ballet, The Firebird, closes the concert with one of the most colorful and exuberant ending of the early Twentieth Century. The MTAC Youth Symphony and the Shasta College Pre-Symphony join the NSS in Moncayo’s Huapango. Scott Seaton conducts, pre concert talk one hour prior to performance.
