The owner of Sunset Cleaners (3649 Eureka Way) was robbed at gunpoint when he opened his store yesterday at around 6:30 am.
The lone suspect was described as a white male in his 30s, wearing a beanie cap, with his face partially covered. He brandished a handgun and demanded money. After receiving an undisclosed amount of money from the owner, he fled the business.
While patrol officers and the California Highway Patrol helicopter were searching for the suspect, a citizen called in to report that they found a replica handgun in the street at Yuba Street and Butte Street. The replica handgun matched the description of the firearm that was used during the course of the robbery.
