The City of Redding Solid Waste Utility is providing answers to commonly asked
questions with just a click on your smart phone or tablet through a new mobile “app.”
The app provides information on collection days by typing in a street address and notes
modified schedules due to holidays. For the forgetful, the app can be set to send an email
reminder the day prior to your collection day.
Other functions include “Waste Wizard,” which allows the user to type in a waste item to
determine how and where to dispose of it. Staff will continually update the list to include
any items not addressed. Also included in the app is the ability to report a problem, such
as a missed pick-up or broken garbage cart.
Available through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, the app is free and easy to
use. To find the app in either store, simply search for City of Redding Solid Waste.
