Shasta Family YMCA’s pool is now open for swimming after resurfacing was completed on schedule. Thanks to community donors, the 20-plus year old community pool was resurfaced, new underwater L.E.D. lighting was installed, new border coping was laid, and pool deck rust was removed, creating a safer and more pleasant pool environment for youth and families.
Shasta Family YMCA received a $25,000 donation in June from The Rotary Club of Redding to match a $25,000 challenge donation from Y member and philanthropist, Steve Woodrum. Mercy Medical Center and Shasta Regional Medical Center matched an additional $10,000 donation from Woodrum. Other generous donors include West Redding Rotary, Redding Bank of Commerce, Joel Stratte-McClure, Cottonwood Pharmacy, Guiton’s Pool Center, Gaynor Telesystems and many others.
