Turtle Bay Exploration Park is hosting a ghoulishly fun event this October: Spooktoberfest! On Friday, October 23 from 5:30-9 p.m., Turtle Bay’s McConnell Arboretum & Botanical Gardens will transform for a Halloween-themed night of family fun. Kids of all ages will enjoy Halloween activities, a special Myths and Legends animal show, featuring some of your favorite animals at Turtle Bay, a rootbeer garden for kids and lots of tricks and treats. Thanks to Redding Distributing, there will be an Oktoberfest-style, no-host beer garden for adults 21 and up, featuring Fall River Brewing Company, Lagunitas Brewing Company, Lost Coast Brewery, and Sierra Nevada. Adding to your night of spooktacular fun is the movie classic Bugs Bunny’s Howl-oween Special on the outdoor screen. Don’t forget to bring a blanket or chairs to sit and enjoy the shows. All guests are encouraged to come in costume, and there will be a costume contest for the kids.

Tickets are $5 per person pre-sale, or $8 per person at the door. Or buy a family pack (2 adults and up to 4 children) for $25 pre-sale or $30 at the door. Tickets are currently on sale at the Museum front desk and the Museum Store and Coffee Bar and online at turtlebay.org. If necessary, the rain date is October 30th. All proceeds support the exhibitions and educational programs at Turtle Bay. For more information, call 242-3130 or visit turtlebay.org/spooktoberfest.
