On Tuesday, 07/07/15, Agents with the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office Marijuana Investigative Team, California Department of Fish and Wildlife Marijuana Enforcement Team, California Department of Fish and Wildlife Wetland Team and Whiskeytown National Park Rangers conducted an operation in an area west of Whiskey Creek located within the Whiskeytown National Park.
A total of 1,263 marijuana plants were eradicated from the cultivation site. During the investigation it was determined the responsible(s) were illegally diverting water from a spring that fed into Whiskey Creek. No subjects were located during entry into the site. Approximately 1000 pounds of garbage, pesticides, fertilizers, and miscellaneous food items were removed from the site during reclamation efforts.
