The City of Redding would like to invite the public to a dedication and ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Robert P. Blankenship Police Facility. The event will take place on June 16th, 2015 at 4:30 PM, prior to the regular City Council meeting. The building is located adjacent to (just west of) City Hall at 855 Cypress Avenue.
The newly constructed facility will house Redding Police patrol operations and property storage. Construction of the 16,500-square-foot facility has taken approximately one year. It is named after retired Redding Police Chief Robert P. Blankenship, who began his career with the Redding Police Department in 1972 and served as Chief of Police from 1988 to 2002.
Following the ceremony, the media and members of the public will be escorted on a private tour of the new facility.
It is anticipated that the facility will be fully operational on June 29th, 2015.
