Chinese New Year to be Celebrated in Weaverville February 28

On Saturday, February 28, Weaverville recalls its Chinese heritage with a Lion Dance performed by local youth on the grounds of the Weaverville Joss House State Park to celebrate the Chinese New Year, accompanied by drums and firecrackers.  Chinese tea and cookies will be served.  Lions will then move up Main Street, chasing evil spirits from, and bestowing good fortune upon, local businesses.

Jake Jackson Museum Open: 9:00am – 4:00pm
Downtown Merchants Faire: 10:00am – 6:00pm (Main Street)
Weaverville Joss House State Park Temple Tours: 12:00pm – 2:00pm
Annual Joss House Lion Dance:11am

30th Annual Rotary Club of Weaverville Chinese New Year Celebration,Open House, and Family Fun

Auction and Dim Sum Dinner: 5:00pm – 8:00pm at the Veterans Memorial Hall
Adults 13 and up $25
Children 6-12 $10
Kids 5 and under: Free
