You are invited to O Street Gallery’s grand opening and reception. It will feature 16 artists and their work upstairs at the Oregon Street Antique Mall at 1261 Oregon Street in Redding.
O Street Gallery’s grand opening and reception will be held Fri. Oct. 17, from 7 to 9 p.m. The event allows the public to meet the artists, see their work and have opportunities to purchase original art.
The O Street Gallery reception will present live music by Bernie Baker. Light refreshments will be served, including locally roasted coffee by Ancient Fire Coffee.
During the Oct. 17 evening reception, the Oregon Street Antique Mall will also remain open for business.
Artists featured at O Street Galley’s grand opening are Gary Thomas, Chuck Prudhomme, Stephanie Luke, Stacey Arcangel, Delainie Laing, Michael Haley, Nanci Sackett, Jan Scanlin, Mollie Flack, Dottie Turk, Sandy Tincher, Ana Fuentes, Gwen and Gene Knaebel, Michelle Sparks and John Stewart.
The first artist group’s work will be shown from Oct. 7 through the first week in December. The next O Street Gallery rotation will run from December through February.
O Street Gallery is the brainchild of Phil and Kate Barker, owners of Oregon Street Antique Mall, who have designated more than half of their upstairs loft area to promote north state art and culture.
Shelly Shively, O Street Gallery’s curator, is impressed with the high caliber of work, as well as the growing community enthusiasm for the gallery.
“O Street Gallery is a huge, open, airy space with a downtown urban-loft feel, unlike anything in Redding,” Shively said. “It’s an honor to showcase the incredible collections created by talented artists who live here, or are from here.”
O Street Gallery will display artists’ work on two-month rotations, with a new group of artists featured in each rotation. O Street Gallery area will also feature ongoing art classes and demonstrations.
