Join us Saturday, October 4th, 2014, from 8:00 am – Noon as we tackle the invasive vegetation that has become overgrown and reduces visibility of the Sacramento River. Community Creek Cleanup 2014 will focus on the south side of the Sacramento River Trail, from Diestelhorst Auto Camp to Middle Creek Road Access.
During these four short hours, hundreds of volunteers will gather to help remove trash and invasive vegetation, opening up the view of the river along this section of the Sacramento River Trail.
Volunteers ages 10 and older are invited to bring a water bottle, wear closed toe shoes, long pants, plenty of sunscreen, and come out to help restore the riparian savannah. Assignments range from registration to first aid to pruning to operating power tools. You can make a substantial contribution in the heart of Redding during a single morning along with hundreds of your fellow citizens.
Gloves, safety goggles, buckets and garden tools will be made available for use.
