On 8/28/2014, The Shasta County Sheriff’s Marijuana Investigative Team, assisted by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife Marijuana Enforcement Team served a search warrant at a 239 Perla Road in the area of Trinity Alps Preserve in Western Shasta County. A total of 91 growing marijuana plants, packaging material, scales, concentrated cannabis “Honey-Oil”, some processed marijuana, and items associated with the manufacturing of concentrated cannabis was subsequently located and seized. Contact was made during the investigation with the home owner, Yamah Hazart. A case will be submitted to the Shasta County District Attorney’s Office for review for the listed charges on Hazart.
Also on 8/28/14, Agents conducted three separate investigations on rural pieces of properties located within the Trinity Alps Preserve area.
At a rural piece of property located off Yolla Bolly Road a total of 363 growing marijuana plants were located on the property. Contact was made with Thavone Phaysamone and Rob Songlin at the property. Agents with the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office Marijuana Team had arrested Thavone Phaysamone on 3/12/14 at the same location when he was found to be cultivating 633 marijuana plants in two green houses on the property. Phaysamone was out on bail from the 3/12/14 incident. Phaysamone and Songlin were subsequently arrested and booked into the Shasta County Jail for the listed charges. Phaysamone will also be charged with committing a felony while out on bail. The case will be submitted to the Shasta County District Attorney’s Office.
At a rural piece of property located at the south eastern portion of Perla Road, 97 growing marijuana plants were located on the property and subsequently eradicated. Contact was made with the responsible(s), identified as Chai Her and Jennifer Hurn out of Humboldt County. A case will be submitted to the Shasta County District Attorney’s Office for the listed charges.
At a rural piece of property located off Yolla Bolly Road 94 growing marijuana plants were located and subsequently eradicated. Contact was made with the responsible(s) identified as Luis Sandoval-Luna and Aureilo Benitez out of Richmond, CA. This same piece of property was connected to a 3,251 plant seizure by Shasta County Sheriff’s Agents on 4/24/14 where multiple Hispanic Male Adults were taken into custody. A new case will be submitted to the Shasta County District Attorney’s Office for review.
A total of 645 marijuana plants were eradicated during the four parcel operation.
